Code of Conduct

 

 

1. Everyone must check in upon arrival. Once admitted to the formal, students will NOT be allowed to leave and re-enter.

 

2. This is a chaperoned event. Attendees agree to respect the authority of all chaperones and adult supervisors.

 

3. Attendees will stay within the physical boundaries set for the event and not leave the premises or venture into areas designated as off limits. 

 

4. Dancing must remain clean and appropriate. Suggestive or dangerous dancing will not be permitted.

 

5.  Absolutely no tobacco, alcohol, weapons, or drugs of any nature are permitted at the dance.  This includes pocket knives.  These items are strictly forbidden by the formal committe and are not permitted at the Inn of Virginia Tech.

 

6.  By allowing your teen to attend this event, parents agree to hold harmless the New River Valley Spring Formal Committee and it's sponsors, The Inn at Virginia Tech, and their representatives in the event of accident or injury.

 

7.  Parents providing transportation for attendees are responsible to arrive by the scheduled end time of 11:00 pm. Any attendee needing to leave early must make arrangements with the chaperones at the check-in table upon arrival.

 

Students driving themselves to the event will not be permitted to leave until the scheduled end time of 11:00 pm, unless prior arrangements have been made with the parent(s) prior to the event. 

 

No parents will be permitted to attend the formal - Chaperones Only.

 

8.  Mature behavior is expected. If a student is asked to leave the dance by a chaperone, a parent will be called. No refund will be issued.
